Client challenge
Too many inspections, or inspections of the wrong type, in the wrong place lead to Turnaround (TA) extensions, poor data leading to unexpected downtime outside the turnaround and unnecessary costs.
During the turnaround itself, delays actioning inspection data with findings lead to TA overruns, increased costs and potential future outages. Making ill informed decisions on the continued use of equipment, the type of repair to be undertaken, or the action to be completed upon findings can lead to operational delays and increased costs.
Post turnaround, a vast amount of inspection data is usually collected. The challenge becomes ensuring the IDMS is accurately updated, findings and non conformances are appropriately actioned and the integrity program is suitably evergreened to ensure the safe operation of the unit.
This client was focused on optimizing the planned TA scope and having experienced, dedicated engineering support during the TA.
How we helped
Vysus Group supported in turnaround planning, execution and in post turnaround activities leading to significant cost and time savings associated with the turnaround. The engineering support allowed key operational decisions to be made with a fast reaction time.
Pre-emptive Fitness for Service Assessments and repair plan development for known integrity issues were conducted, improving accuracy of TA planning, scheduling and cost estimation, while reducing potential delays during the TA.
Our team of five engineers provided dedicated, 24 hour support to the facility, ensuring Level 3 Fitness for Service assessments and accurate, code compliant repair plans were delivered quickly. This improved repair times, reduced costs associated with delays in having the right information and reduced the overall cost of the TA.
'Your dedication and expertise helped us to keep up with 100’s of repair package requests and It was an absolute pleasure working with all of you and we are looking forward to more collaboration opportunities in future.'
