Continental Connections: Supporting our team to unlock their global potential

Having the opportunity to live and work in different countries can create fantastic personal and career opportunities. As Vysus Group continues its global expansion, we spoke to two team members who have recently relocated to different continents and have taken on a more senior position with the company as part of the move.

Jorge Garcia, a Principal Consultant with our Risk Management team has recently relocated to Qatar from the UK while Manorma Kumar, Operations Manager with our Nuclear team has made Chicago in the USA home after moving from Sweden earlier this year.

Relocating has allowed Jorge and Manorma to explore different cultures while further developing their careers with Vysus. Manorma has been promoted from Team Lead, Nuclear, Sweden to Operations Manager Nuclear, US, while retaining additional technical role as Principal Consultant. She will focus on strengthening Vysus Group’s nuclear services in North America’s growing nuclear industry, with a particular emphasis on the development of advanced and small modular nuclear reactors, as well as facility decommissioning. Jorge also has an expanded role with a greater focus on business development and cementing Vysus Group’s position in the region.

Jorge, who is originally from Spain, has spent the last 15 years in the UK. He moved to Doha with his wife and daughter in July.

He said: “I’m really excited about the future of Vysus in Qatar and the region. It is a great opportunity to be involved in large projects that will support Qatar’s transition to a more sustainable energy future and assist in expanding Vysus’ operations in the region.”

“Being based locally will help us to provide our clients with an improved service and will make it easier to do business. I’m also looking forward to working with and getting to know my colleagues in the Vysus India team, who will also be helping to support our clients in Qatar. On a personal level, I am looking forward to enjoying Qatar with my family, as it is a great place to live and for my daughter to grow up.”

Like Jorge, Manorma is also no stranger to living in different countries. Originally from India, she has lived and worked in the UK, Finland, and Sweden before moving to the USA earlier this year. She has been part of the Vysus team for more than 11 years. She moved to the US with her family in June.

She said: “I am grateful to Vysus senior leadership team for their forward-thinking vision. It is an honour to be entrusted with supporting their plans to expand Vysus Group's services in the region.

“Transitioning to a new country with Vysus Group has been an exciting journey. The company's unwavering support and global vision have made this move seamless, allowing me to contribute to the dynamic North American nuclear industry.
