Building Vysus Group's foothold in India

Meet the Team: Faraz Khan, Team Manager, Power and Energy Systems

Dr. Faraz Khan is a man on a mission. A specialist at building expert teams across generation, transmission, distribution, industries and renewables projects, he is leading Vysus Group’s expansion in India and Middle East.

Vysus Group's Australia-based Power and Energy Systems team is recognised as a leading authority on compliance and grid connectivity. As part of its growth, Vysus Group is expanding that expertise to have dedicated teams in key regions including Asia, the Middle East and Europe.

In India, Faraz is already managing eight engineers and expects to expand further roles over the coming year. In addition to growing the team in Bangalore, his greatest focus for 2025 will be making sure as many industrial companies as possible across the region are aware of how Vysus Group can help keep their people and assets safe while improving their performance.

“It’s a big job,” says Faraz “But, we have an exciting and compelling story to tell and it’s rewarding to see demand for our expertise growing in India as people realise the positive impact we can make to their operations.”

Helping industrial companies to thrive safely

Faraz, who holds a Masters degree in Power Systems and completed a Ph.d in Advanced Protection and Analysis Schemes in Transmission Systems, joined Vysus Group in April 2024, as Team Manager for Power and Energy Systems. He brings more than 16 years of experience having held leadership roles with technology, energy, and business solutions consultancies.

Faraz, says he’s passionate about building high performing teams from scratch and has managed teams for clients such as Sohar Aluminium, OQ, ALBA, Emirates Steel, and Tata Steel.

As part of the Power and Energy Systems team, he works closely with colleagues around the globe.

“Even though my colleagues and I work on different continents, we’re ultimately one team,” he explains. “The collaboration and support from our Australian team have been instrumental in refining strategies and ensuring smooth execution.”

What drives him is the complexity of industrial power systems. “Every project presents a new challenge,” he shares. “It’s an opportunity to learn, solve problems, and deliver solutions that truly make a difference for our clients.” His typical day involves guiding his team, solving technical challenges, developing business opportunities, and collaborating with clients. “There’s no routine in my role. Each day is a blend of teamwork, technical problem-solving, and client engagement. This balance keeps me motivated.”

A call to innovators

It was Vysus Group’s culture that first attracted Faraz to his new role.

“There’s a genuine spirit of collaboration,” he says. “Our weekly progress meetings keep us on track, tech talks ensure we’re constantly learning and sharing knowledge, and we celebrate successes together. It’s a culture that values growth, both individually and as a team.”

Faraz is optimistic about the future at Vysus Group: “We are laying a solid foundation in India. The connections we are building and the team we are forming - it’s all just the beginning. I’m excited to see how far we can go.”

He encourages those with a passion for learning and innovation to join the Vysus team. “If you’re someone who thrives on solving challenges and wants to work with experts shaping the future of energy, Vysus is the place for you,” he adds.
